Mutual Fund industry Average AUM reaches Rs 22.61 lakh crore in December

Mutual Fund industry Average AUM reaches Rs 22.61 lakh crore in December. The AUM has reached an all-time high of Rs 22.61 lakh crore. As on December 31, 2017, the AUM remained at Rs 21.38 lakh crore.

In 31st March 2007, the AUM of Mutual Fund industry was Rs 3.26 lakh crore and now it has developed to Rs 21.38 lakh crore as on 31st December 2017. Around six and a half overlay increment in a traverse of around 10 and half years.

As on 31st March 2012, the AUM of Mutual Fund industry was Rs 5.87 lakh crore. It has reached to Rs 21.38 lakh crore as on 31st December 2017. Around three and a half overlay increment in a traverse of around 5 and half years.

Experts say that the development has come to a great extent because of higher inflows in equity funds through SIPs.

The industry got equity inflows including equity funds, balanced assets, ELSS and equity ETFs of Rs.24,239 crore in December. This has helped equity assets to cross a point of reference AUM of Rs. 10 lakh crore.

AMFI information demonstrates that the month to month inflows in Mutual Fund through SIP achieved an untouched high of Rs.6,222 crore. In fact, the industry cleaned up near Rs.47,000 crore in April-December through SIPs. The Mutual Fund industry had included around 9.26 lakh SIP accounts every month. This was an average during the initial nine months of FY 2017-18, with a normal SIP ticket size of about Rs.3,300.
